Mid-North Promise Program

Mid-North Promise ProgramFor decades the museum has had a longstanding commitment to its neighbors. We collaborate with city officials and other community partners in areas such as neighborhood revitalization, safety, education, and more. We aim to improve the quality of life for the children and families around us, particularly in six neighborhoods comprising the city’s Mid-North area where research has shown:

  • 17% of residents over age 25 have not graduated from high school
  • 57% of residents over age 25 have only a high school diploma
  • Lower rates of college attainment than the surrounding city or state
  • Higher rates of residents living below poverty than the surrounding city or state
  • Higher rates of vacated properties than the surrounding city or state
